Unique Alpine Rifle TPG-1 308
The Unique Alpine designated TPG-1 (tactical precision rifle) manufactured in Bavaria Southern Germany, is one of the most accurate and nicely designed long-range interdiction rifles in the world. The TPG-1 is a modular multi caliber rifle utilizing a 3-lug rotating bolt that locks directly into the barrel extension. The barrel and stock are detachable this feature allows for compact storage and transport. The chassis is machined with a UIT rail. This feature allows for bipod attachment much like the standard M4 rail system. The receiver is manufactured using a high-grade aluminum alloy, which features a Picatiny rail for swift and secure optic mounting. This system also incorporates molded forend panels allowing for a very secure and comfortable hold position. The stock, which is made of a polymer molded onto an alloy chassis, features a pistol grip with finger groves and a hand rest. The hand rest is similar to those found on varmint and target rifles providing a shelf for the deployed shooters hand. This helps reduce fatigue. The buttstock is removable and adjustable with cheek-piece, butt plate and a monopod. The monopod helps the shooter remain on target for longer periods of time reducing fatigue and providing a very secure three point adjustable stance when used in combination with the bipod.
The match grade barrels are fluted and fitted with very effective muzzle breaks. The barrels are quickly detached and can be replaced by the shooter. Short barrels as well as integral silencers are available in the NATO 7.62x51 or the commercial .308 caliber and would make up a great kit. This feature allows the operator purposeful choices. The Unique Alpine rifle is produced in a variety of colors. The company also is incorporating camouflage patterns. It is available in their proprietary “City Tone" as well as a Woodland pattern. The Unique Alpine rifle is supplied to several European Police Units. There is also a lightweight stocked TPG-1 V2 available; this rifle is lighter with increased recoil. The rifle was bipod mounted with 5-25x56 Schmidt & Bender PMI, optics on top. The grouping measures 17.05 mm across the wide points 1-7 o’clock. The shot distance is 300 meters, very nice shooting. The round is the flat shooting Winchester .300 Magnum. Five rounds each manufactured for the task were fired at a distance of 300 meters.
