Over the years tactical rifle scopes have improved dramatically. However the four basic components have remained constant. - Objective lens or the front lens is critical for an excellent sight picture. A large diameter objective lens allows for a brighter image. But sunlight reflecting from the lens can wreak havoc on stealth and concealment. Most manufactures of tactical scopes offer Anti-Reflection Devices very similar to honeycomb baffles which reduce lens glare as effectively as a lens shade. - Internal erector lenses which return the image to a right side up position. Remember the camera obscura most companies right the image by either mirror or prism systems. - A reticle referred to as a cross-hair which provides an aiming point. Actual spider web silk filaments were common until the 1960’s with properties 40 times finer than human hair. Today cross-hairs are either etched or made of metal filaments. - An eyepiece or ocular lens that operates in conjunction with the other lenses providing image magnification, correct eye relief and diopter corrections. Secondary CQB sights that are small red dots are becoming very popular as scope magnification increases and are often times found piggy backed to the rifle scopes along with lasers and expensive night vision devices. When it comes to tactical shooting there really is no better place to spend that hard earned cash than on exceptional glass! Return from Tactical Rifle Scopes to Accessories
