Custom 1911 | AR-15

There is a very fine gentleman who makes some of the world's finest custom 1911 pistols and AR-type rifles and carbines. His name is Dave Lauck, owner and operator of D&L Sports Inc... the same company that is credited in one of those Bob the Nailer books by Stephen Hunter!


Dave is a favorite at Tactical Threshold. He has over 30 years experience in the custom firearms business which is like Hank Jr. said a family tradition. His website at DLSPORTS.com is a great source of information, in fact it will provide a very solid education to those interested in practical and tactical firearms.
If that doesn't do it, no problem, Mr. Lauck has written four books on the subject.

If that doesnt do it for you well D&LSports Inc. has a Small Arms Training Academy (S.A.T.A.). It is located 30 miles north of Gillette, Wyoming. S.A.T.A. is the host of the International Tactical Rifleman Championships, the Carlos Hathcock Family Benefit and the One Mile Club. Dont confuse the One Mile Club with the One Mile High Club... its a different type of thing, although the latest DLSports.com poster might encourage the latter. If not you might be using lead free ammo!

Pictured below is a pair of long slide 45 caliber pistols Dave produced as props for the upcoming movie "Watchmen". That will be released next year directed by Zack Snyder. The same Zack Snyder that directed "300". Think about that for a moment. Mr. Laucks fine pistols, which cannot be emphasized enough, are also great conversation pieces!
